They destroyed her. A little at a time. Her heart couldn’t take it anymore. Her eyes were blurry from the tears as anger began to creep its way up her spine. The next moment she felt pain shoot through her hand as the mirror in front of her shattered into thousands of pieces. She gasped, shocked at her own anger and strength. She lifted her hand and stared as blood dripped onto the broken glass below. Her eyes shifted to the broken mirror and she saw her tear stained face looking back at her. She barely recognized herself. And, for a moment she felt as though she were the one who had shattered. Her anger disintegrated the longer she stared at her reflection. She stood up taller. I’m stronger than this. I’m better than this.
